3rd Federal Bank has re-affirmed its commitment as a sustainability steward – and to Mayor Michael Nutter’s challenge of making Philadelphia the “greenest city in the nation” – by building its first branch designed for LEED-certification. Completed in 2010, the 3,028 gross-square foot facility received a Gold-level LEED designation and incorporates various sustainability features in the areas of sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy & atmosphere, materials & resources, indoor environmental quality, and innovation & design process. 3rd Federal Bank is the first community bank in the region to build a green brick and mortar facility.
